WERTZ ENTHUSIASTICALLY ENDORSED BY INSULATORS LOCAL 2
Insulators Local 2: “His dedication to fair labor practices, workers’ rights, and the betterment of our communities makes him an outstanding candidate.”
Erie, PA — Today, Jim Wertz, the Democratic nominee for Pennsylvania Senate District 49, announced his endorsement by the International Association of Heat and Frost Insulators and Allied Workers Local 2. The union shared their “proud endorsement” of Wertz in a letter from Local 2 Business Manager Jim Cassidy.
“[Jim’s] commitment to education, training, and apprenticeship programs aligns with our mission to provide our members with the skills they need to succeed in an ever-evolving job market.” wrote Cassidy. “Jim’s dedication to creating good-paying jobs and fostering economic growth in our state is precisely what Pennsylvania needs at this critical juncture.”
“I’m grateful for the support of the Heat and Frost Insulators and Allied Workers Local 2,” said Wertz. “Its members represent the best of organized labor, and I’m proud to stand with them and our Union brothers and sisters, today and in the days to come.”
The endorsement comes on the heels of a recent poll that shows Wertz with a clear path to victory over incumbent Republican Dan Laughlin.
Wertz continues to rack up labor support and build momentum in the race with endorsements from the American Federation of Teachers PA (AFT), PA State Education Association (PSEA), Roofers Local 210, Firefighters Local 293, Teamsters Local 397 & Joint Council 40, Roofers Local 210, Machinists Local 1211, Iron Workers Local 851, and the Eastern Atlantic State Regional Council of Carpenters.
