WERTZ ENDORSED BY NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF BROADCAST EMPLOYEES AND TECHNICIANS LOCAL 58028
Wertz is a former member of Local 58028, which represents Erie County broadcast workers. The endorsement comes as Wertz continues to build momentum in the race for State Senate.
Erie, PA — Today, Jim Wertz, the Democratic nominee for Pennsylvania Senate District 49, announced his endorsement by the National Association of Broadcast Employees and Technicians (NABET-CWA) Local 58028, which represents broadcast workers in Erie County. Wertz is a former NABET-CWA member who received his first union card from Local 58028. The endorsement comes as Wertz continues to build momentum in the race for Senate District 49.
“The men and women of NABET-CWA Local 58028 proudly endorse Jim Wertz for Pennsylvania State Senate,” said Mike Prince, President of NABET-CWA Local 58028. “His unwavering commitment to working people and collective bargaining rights is outstanding and is badly needed in the Pennsylvania Senate. We will do what it takes to see that his campaign is successful.”
“Receiving a union card from NABET-CWA changed my life,” said Wertz. “Hardworking union members are a cornerstone of Erie County, and it’s crucial that working people have a seat at the table. I’m committed to preserving and protecting unions and finally giving true representation to our region’s union workers in the Pennsylvania Senate.”
Wertz continues to rack up labor support and build momentum in the race as NABET-CWA joins the American Federation of Teachers PA, PA State Education Association, Roofers Local 210, Firefighters Local 293, Teamsters Local 397 & Joint Council 40, Roofers Local 210, Machinists Local 1211, and the Eastern Atlantic State Regional Council of Carpenters in supporting Wertz.
The endorsement comes on the heels of a recent poll that shows Wertz with a clear path to victory over incumbent Republican Dan Laughlin. The general election will take place on Tuesday, November 5th.
