JIM WERTZ ENDORSED BY PENNSYLVANIA STATE EDUCATION ASSOCIATION PAC, PSEA-PACE
Wertz racks up another endorsement for organized labor as he continues to build momentum in the race for Senate District 49

Erie, PA — Today, State Senate candidate Jim Wertz announced his endorsement from PSEA-PACE, the PA State Education Association’s political action committee.

On behalf of the 3,631 public school employees, retirees and aspiring educators who live in the 49th District and the nearly 178,000 PSEA members across the Commonwealth, we thank you for your commitment to public education and labor,” wrote PSEA President Aaron F. Chapin and PSEA-PACE Chair Theresa A. Prato in a letter to Wertz’s campaign.

“Education is the great equalizer if it’s done right,” said Wertz. “We have a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to fix our funding model, and that’s why it’s so imperative we have more teachers at the decision-making table. As a longtime educator, I remain committed to fully and equitably funding our public schools in Erie and across Pennsylvania.”

This is yet another major endorsement as Wertz continues to build a groundswell of support in Erie County. He recently received endorsements from the Association of Pennsylvania State College and University Faculties, the American Federation of Teachers – Pennsylvania, the Erie City Council president and other members, the Regional Council of Carpenters, County Councilmen Terry ScutellaChris Drexel and Rock Copeland, former Erie Mayor Joyce Savocchio, and a group of current and former Erie County Sheriffs.

Wertz has raised over $100k in the race for Senate District 49.

The Democratic Primary for Senate District 49 and other races up and down the ballot will take place on Tuesday, April 23.
